SFTP stands for SSH File Transfer Protocol and is a method of transferring files between machines over a secure, encrypted connection (as opposed to regular FTP, which functions over an insecure connection). The security in SFTP comes through its integration with SSH, which provides an encrypted transport layer over which the SFTP commands are executed. Net::SFTP::Foreign is a Perl client for the SFTP version 3 as defined in the SSH File Transfer Protocol IETF draft, which can be found at http://www.openssh.org/txt/draft-ietf-secsh-filexfer-02.txt This implementation uses an external OpenSSH-compatible program.
Binary packages can be installed with the high-level tool pkgin (which can be installed with pkg_add) or pkg_add(1) (installed by default). The NetBSD packages collection is also designed to permit easy installation from source.
The pkg_admin audit command locates any installed package which has been mentioned in security advisories as having vulnerabilities.
Please note the vulnerabilities database might not be fully accurate, and not every bug is exploitable with every configuration.
Problem reports, updates or suggestions for this package should be reported with send-pr.
